Colonia Library

This section is dedicated towards the early thinking behind the Hive Library, which includes the raw sketches, structural studies, and initial modelling which shaped the final designs. The goal of this stage was not to focus on the appearance of the library, but rather to understand the behaviour of the hive mind and how individual cells could hold its own identity while also contributing to the entire colony of cells within the library.

This section documents the early thinking behind the Hive Library — the raw sketches, structural studies, and spatial experiments that shaped the final design. Working from the principle of the hivemind, the goal at this stage was not to resolve the building's appearance, but to understand its behaviour: how individual cells could hold their own identity while contributing to a larger whole.

The sketches explore how distinct zones might cluster, connect, and flow into one another, testing different arrangements of solitary and communal space.
